If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 PowerPoint slides and they rotated automatically every 15 seconds? Around the world people have been putting together “Ignite” nights to share their answers.

Following the incredible success of previous Ignite Bend events, we are pleased to announce that Ignite Bend 8 will be held on February 23, 2012. We hope that you will participate in this outstanding community event as a speaker, voter and attendee!

Ten speakers will be pre‐selected from the submissions based on feedback and votes collected online and at a voting party. The presenters selected to speak at Ignite Bend 8will receive a handmade coffee mug bearing the Ignite Bend logo from Mug Revolution.

Volunteers are needed to help Ignite Bend run smoothly. Please contact our volunteer coordinator (volunteers@ignitebend.com) if you wish to help at the event on February 23, 2012.

Battledecks and IB8 Voting Party

Join us at GoodLife Brewing on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 7pm for Battledecks and the Ignite Bend 8 voting party! Grab a beer, grab the mic (sign up first, please), let your light shine, or sit back enjoy. While you're there, be sure to cast your vote for the Ignite Bend 8 proposals you want to see on February 23 at the Tower Theatre!

What is Battledecks, anyway?
Get a taste of what the Ignite experience is like with Battledecks: a powerpoint karaoke where you ad-lib your way through slides you’ve never seen before. Inspired by similar events held at SXSW Interactive, Battledecks is a fast-paced, fun, laugh riot where “contestants” have to put together a presentation on the fly as slides are randomly projected for their confusion and the delight of the audience.
