Watch Ignite Bend 4

Did you miss Ignite Bend 4? Or even if you attended, do you want to watch your favorite talks again? Watch Ignite Bend 4 here!

Ignite Bend 4 is tonight!

Ignite Bend 4 is TONIGHT, 7pm at the Tower Theatre. If you don’t already have a ticket for this SOLD OUT event there will be a standby line, and we should have some room for extra folks that want to join us. Let’s fill up the Tower Theatre!!

If you are one of our friends from afar and you just can’t make it to the event, be sure to catch the live stream, provided by Pinnacle Media. The broadcast will be recorded, so you can also catch it at a later date and replay your favorite talks over and over…

Whether you are joining us at the Tower Theatre or via the live stream, we want you to share your experience and help us spread the word about Ignite Bend. Here are some helpful hints and recommendations* for enjoying Ignite Bend 4 to the fullest:

  • DO bring your camera, your phone, your sketchpad, or any other way of capturing the event.
  • DO check in at the Tower Theatre in Bend, OR on Foursquare… let’s see if we can make the first Foursquare “swarm” in Bend!
  • DO bring your eePC, iPod Touch, or other wifi capable devices. Free wifi will be provided but we will NOT have power available in the audience seating area.
  • DO tag anything and everything (Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, etc.) ib4 and/or ignitebend. That way, we can find it.
  • DON’T forget your ticket (or bring a device that will allow you to show your ticket electronically). We’ll have a check-in list at the door but things will go a LOT more smoothly if you have a ticket.
  • DO get there early. Really early. I’m serious. Early. Did I say “Early”? Seating is general admission, and while there really aren’t any bad seats in the Tower Theatre we would HATE for you to still be looking for a seat when the show kicks off.
  • DO be prepared to give everyone and anyone your Twitter name. (Don’t use Twitter? Get on it.)
  • Now that you’re on Twitter, DO try to tweet about the event and hashtag it #ib4. That way, we can see what you’re saying.
  • DO be nice to all the Ignite folks and volunteers. (They’re all volunteers. And they’re doing this in their free time.)
  • DON’T be the assholes who heckle presenters. They’re volunteers (and people) too.
  • DON’T be a wallflower. Talk to people in line while you’re waiting to get into the Tower Theatre. Talk to people while you’re waiting to buy a drink, or something to munch on from the snack bar.
  • DO try to get your picture taken by someone. Ignite pictures have a way of getting your mug onto Facebook, Flickr, and into your favorite print media.
  • DO take a minute to thank our sponsors. Their support keeps Ignite Bend a FREE event, and we couldn’t do this without them!!
  • DO give the suggested $3 donation at the door. All funds go to help pay expenses. You don’t have to… but isn’t this great event worth a little of your spare change?

Tonight’s the big night! I hope everyone has a terrific time. We owe a HUGE thanks to all of the volunteers, speakers, and sponsors who are making this fourth edition of Ignite Bend possible. This event would be nothing with the community behind it, and their love and effort.

Let’s have a great time at Ignite Bend 4!

Ignite AdBite

Ignite AdBite will be held on Thursday, January 28.

Just when you thought it was safe to venture into the next decade conducting business as usual…we have a unique and inspiring way to jump start the New Year.

Rather than just one speaker at the next AdBite on Thursday, January 28, we’re going to have Ignite AdBite.

Following the Ignite Bend format, 12 speakers will be chosen and given five minutes each to make a presentation on the topic of their choice. The one uniting theme is: What inspires you?

To be one of the presenters, simply submit your topic along with a brief one paragraph synopsis of what you will be communicating to AdFed Programs Committee Chair, Georell Bracelin.

The dozen presenters will be chosen based on the same criteria as Ignite Bend. Specifically: We are looking for talks that will inspire and teach; no recruiting, service or product pitches.

Deadline for entries is Wednesday, December 30. Presenters will be announced Monday, January 4 – giving a full 23 days to perfect your five minutes of fame.

ABOUT IGNITE BEND – If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 PowerPoint slides and they rotated automatically every 15 seconds? More information about Ignite Events held around the world can be found at O’Reilly’s Ignite website (http://ignite.oreilly.com).
