“Talk low, talk slow, and don’t say too much.”

~John Wayne

I don’t know if the Duke would have fared too well at Ignite. With only five minutes, you can’t talk too slowly. But some folks sure can say a lot during that short window!

There’s still time to submit your proposal! If you need ideas, be sure to check out the websites for other Ignite events around the world. You can also take a look at – and comment on – the proposals that have already been submitted for Ignite Bend 1… here!

Ignite Bend speakers don’t just get five minutes of glory. We are pleased to announce that the speakers selected to present will also receive a gift from the Ignite Bend planning committee and Mug Revolution. Owen Dearing is creating an exclusive handmade coffee mug for the presenters, which will bear the Ignite Bend logo. The only way to get one of these beautiful and useful mugs is to be selected and present at Ignite Bend!

What are you waiting for? Proposals are being accepted for Ignite Bend NOW! What’s your burning idea?

Sliding your way through Ignite Bend

Have you posted your idea for Ignite Bend yet? There’s still time to submit your talk! If your topic is chosen you get five minutes on stage to share your idea. But here’s the catch – you only get 20 slides… and they rotate automatically after 15 seconds.

That’s right… you need to create slides to go along with your talk. But don’t worry – we want to make this a fun experience and have some tips to help make this easy for everyone.

  • …Most people already have some sort of presentation software loaded on their computer. (PC’s generally have “Powerpoint” and Macs generally have “Keynote”… but there are many other options.)
  • …Don’t have a computer with presentation software? The Bend Public Library has computers available, and they have Powerpoint loaded on them. All you need to do is bring a USB memory stick with you, so that you can save your work!
  • …Ignite Bend will be hosting a “Slide Clinic” for the selected speakers. There will be folks available to help you with creating your presentation slides, if it’s your first time. We’ll also provide you with a basic layout (optional) and give you some tips on how to make your Ignite presentation really get people fired up.

We can’t wait to see everyone’s ideas!
