Sliding your way through Ignite Bend

Have you posted your idea for Ignite Bend yet? There’s still time to submit your talk! If your topic is chosen you get five minutes on stage to share your idea. But here’s the catch – you only get 20 slides… and they rotate automatically after 15 seconds.

That’s right… you need to create slides to go along with your talk. But don’t worry – we want to make this a fun experience and have some tips to help make this easy for everyone.

  • …Most people already have some sort of presentation software loaded on their computer. (PC’s generally have “Powerpoint” and Macs generally have “Keynote”… but there are many other options.)
  • …Don’t have a computer with presentation software? The Bend Public Library has computers available, and they have Powerpoint loaded on them. All you need to do is bring a USB memory stick with you, so that you can save your work!
  • …Ignite Bend will be hosting a “Slide Clinic” for the selected speakers. There will be folks available to help you with creating your presentation slides, if it’s your first time. We’ll also provide you with a basic layout (optional) and give you some tips on how to make your Ignite presentation really get people fired up.

We can’t wait to see everyone’s ideas!
