If you had 5 minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds?
Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to enlighten us – quickly.
One of THOSE kind of Dads
First off I am a dad of two daughters and a great little son. I love them and my wife Collette deeply and when that happens to a person whatever they would have been is always altered in a profound way. That said, I started PoetHouse Art a few years ago because I have a passion for The Arts but even more then that I love to challenge young minds and hearts to develop a voracious fervor for life. For the past 17 years I have worked with young people in a variety of settings both professionally and as a volunteer. In addition to my time at the PoetHouse I am currently working as a Life Coach at College Excel for collage age students who are looking to develop the confidence and skills necessary to succeed in today’s academic environment.
What is it about being the dad of daughters that can be so challenging for some? Why is it important that we as dads are there no matter what? This is a talk that takes a look at (from a humorous perspective) the very difficult subject of, why it is so crucial for dads to stay connected and involved in their children’s/daughters lives. This talk is rooted in my experience as a dad, a son and in my years working with teenagers and college students with disconnected parents.
